Sub-types
- Truss type 1.A: Beam in sockets or holes in the walls of the tower or belfry
- Truss type 1.B: Beam on corbels built into the walls of the tower or belfry
- Truss type 1.C: Beam on a ledge or offset in the walls of the tower or belfry, or resting on sills of the belfry window openings
- Truss type 1.D: Beam on and at right angles to timber wall-plates or bearers
- Truss type 1.E: Beam between and jointed at right angles to wooden beams
- Truss type 1.F: Beam fixed between upright timber posts or studs (e.g. of a timber turret)
- Truss type 1(i): Horizontal wooden beams as frames; beam supported by independent wall posts (themselves resting on a corbel, offset, or timber support at the lower end)
- Truss type 1(ii): Horizontal wooden beams as frames; beam supported by central post (resting on the floor or on a beam at the lower end)
