[2]Alternative weight of bell
The bell had originally been quoted as 44-0-11, but this arose from a typo from a message from the foundry quoting the weight as 2,240.5kg. It has since been confirmed that this should have read 2,340.5kg. In their article in the Ringing World 20 August 2021 pp.760-2 on “A Belgian bell in Mitchelstown, Ireland”, David Proot and Bill Power quote the hour bell as 2,340kg (46-0-8), hence referring to the correct weight.
