Notes
[1]Previous bell
The previous bell was believed by Ranald Clouston to have been cast by an unknown London founder in the period 1360-1380. The inscription In Maria Est Spes Mea
is recorded in the Kimber Collection of drawings previously located at Whitechapel.
The previous bells at Layer Marney, Essex (recast 1899) and Ringwood, Kent (recast 1887) are also believed to have been by the same founder.
