[1]History of the bell

According to Paul Cattermole, the bell was recast from the metal of a clock bell formerly hung at Norwich Cathedral. The clock bell had became redundant when the quarter chimes were installed and was taken to Christ Church.

However, when the bell arrived at Christ Church, it was found to be cracked, which resulted in the bell being recast by Alfred Bowell.
