The date of the bell was amended from c.1680 to c.1580. This is driven by the following reference.

Bucks B&B states: The X appears to be intended as an initial cross but has slipped, the lower case black-letter t’ is upside down, the ’e is formed in such a way that it could be read as an ’r. Cocks records it as an ’e and therefore attributes the bell to Thomas Eldridge of Wokingham cast c1580. though this is extremely conjectural.
