[1]Founder of bells 3-8
It isn’t clear which of the Eldridge family cast bells 3-8. Sussex B&B gives their inscription as: GVLIELMVS ELDRIDGE FECIT 1699 + + + +/T + E + +. This suggests both William Eldridge and Thomas Eldridge (T+E). However the date doesn’t tell us which William this was, and the chances are that both Williams were still alive, and therefore potentially active. Therefore a compromise in Dove’s Guide is being struck by listing all three founders. The date of William I’s death is unknown, and if that ever comes to light, that might affect this listing.

[2]Frame layout variation
Similar to 6.1, but pit E is extended further than pit D. This extension forms the frame end of pit C from the non-standard 3 bell frame extension. Pit A is empty. (Ex inf. Kye Leaver)

[3]Frame resultant layout
Three rows of frame. Top row: pits E and F of 6.1 (end to end). Middle row: pit C of the 3 bell frame and pits A,B,C,D of 6.1 frame, orthogonal to top row. This row forms a row of 5 swinging in the same direction, noting the end pit is emty. Bottom row: 2 pits end to end, parallel to top row, only adjacent to pit C of the 3 bell frame and pits B,C,D of 6.1. (Ex. inf. Kye Leaver)

[4]Frame layout
Non-standard 3 bell frame. Pits A and B end to end with pit C orthogonal to pit B with the frame end of pit C shared with the truss of pit B, thereby forming an L shape. Pit C only has an outer truss in this frame, with the inner truss shared with the oak frame. [Ex inf. Kye Leaver]
