Notes

[1]Notes on the display bell

This bells is displayed in the church by the altar. The Newcastle Society of Antiquarians said in 1889 that it is probably "one of the ij bells mentioned in the inventory". It is cracked and was therefore preserved in the church and replaced by a new bell in 1945. George Dawson has it weighing 2-3-18 and was cast in c1470 by an unknown founder.
