[1]Chemical analysis of metal
A chemical analysis carried out in 2001 showed the metal in this bell contained 73.5% copper, 20.8% tin, 1.54% nickel, 1.50% lead, 1.50% antimony, 0.8% arsenic, 0.17% zinc, 0.13% sulphur, 0.06% iron, 0.035% bismuth, and traces of phosphorous, manganese, aluminium and silicon. All percentages are by mass. A footnote to the arsenic figure marked it unconfirmed
