Notes
[1]Note on founder
Angela Elliott writes: I have been undertaking research in various archives re this bell and following communications with the Cathedral in Quebec where this bell is reputed to have been taken from in 1759 believe it now to be one of 3 bells cast in 1663/1664 by Jean Hamonnet and indicated on the bell as JH. The inscription is indicated as fecit IH 1663 and I believe that I is in fact a J. I have sources to back this up and am writing a paper on it.
