Notes

[1]1979 projects

We don’t have precise dates for either of the 1979 projects. A QP was rung on the rehung ring of six on 11/Jan/1979 (see RW 1979 p126). The dedication for the augmented ring of eight took place on 09/Dec/1979, as advertised in the RW

[3]Bell hanging

Sanctus bell is hung between two steel bearers mounted across the base beams of the original timber frame (all that remains of that frame)

[4]Bell hanging

Bell mounted on steel bearers between old timber bell frame sill timbers.

[5]Frame maker and overhaul

The steel bell frame was made and constructed by Arthur Fidler in Devon, and then collected by the local ringers for installation. The work was not carried out by Fidler alone, but rather the local ringers installing a frame Fidler produced.
