11979Winstone, Gloucestershire, S BartholomewBells 1,2,3,5 of the ring of 6 from St John the Baptist Gloucester were transferred to Winstone to form bells 1,2,3,5 of a remodelled ring of 6. Bells 1 and 3 from the old ring of 3 here were moved over to become bells 4 and 6. They were hung in a new frame.Whitechapel Bell Foundry
21976Gloucester, Gloucestershire, S John BaptIn 1973 the PCC of St John the Bapt, Gloucester, decided to dispose of the bells as there was little likelihood of restoring them, especially as the church was shared with the Methodists. They were purchased by Fred Sharpe & Mary Bliss to prevent them being lost but remained in the tower until 1976 when the bells and frame were removed. The 4th was left in the tower in its original pit. The broken tenor wa given to Gloucester Cathedral and recast into the treble of the ring of 12.
