As from noon today, Easter Day 2014, the three dioceses of Bradford, Ripon and Leeds, and Wakefield cease to exist as distinct entities and, with a very few exceptions, their parishes come within the newly designated Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales (henceforth shown by us as WYorks+Dales).
The exceptions include the Dove towers of Bolton by Bowland, Gisburn, Great Mitton, Waddington (all formerly Bradford Diocese) which four transfer to Blackburn Diocese, and Penistone (formerly Wakefield) which transfers to Sheffield. The Cathedral Church of each former diocese remains as a cathedral of the new Diocese.
The revised diocese name is now shown on the Details page for towers affected, but these changes will NOT be listed as Dove updates.
