Notes
[1]Origin of the bell
The bell was the former 5th of a ring of six in the demolished church of Holy Trinity, King’s Square. It was tuned and weighed by Taylors in 1940. It was transferred to Holy Trinity on Goodramgate, York where it was hung in the churchyard near the door. In 2019 it was moved to stand inside the tower of St Lawrence, York, hung just high enough to allow it to be chimed with a small hammer.
