Notes

Note on the display bell

The display bell came from St Matthew’s Church, Broom, which was built 1878 (hence the estimate for the date of the bell is given as c. 1878.) The bell was hung on a portable frame in Bidford church made by Harry Plumb (an Evesham ringer) in 1997, and therefore considered unhung. (Note that Broom church, which is now a house, has since been given a second-hand bell to hang in the open gable. [Info from C J Pickford, Mar 2022, following his visit, the most recent being 2011]
