Notes
[1]Current status of church
St Mary’s church was declared unsafe in 1970 and services were discontinued. It was officially closed in 1974 as part of the scheme for reorganisation of the Birkenhead parishes, although services continued to be held in the Chapter House of the Priory. (This remains under CofE jurisdiction.) The church was demolished in 1977 except for the tower and west walls. In 2012, repair and restoration took place to St Mary’s tower and the Priory site.
