[1]Notes from the inscriptions and casting dates

The bells were actually cast between 1st September and 28th September 1936. King Edward VIII’s name was removed and King George VI’s incised instead.

[2]Frame Fr1 layout

Frame Fr1 comprises eight pits arranged around a central square opening with all bells swinging towards that opening. Bells 13 and 14 hang in two parallel pits on the south side; bells 10, 11 and 12 hang in three parallel pits on the east side; bells 7, 8 and 9 hang in three parallel pits on the north side; there are no pits on the western side.

[3]Frame Fr1.1 layout

Frame Fr1.1 comprises a single pit positioned on the north side of Frame Fr1 (although not structurally connected to it). Bell 8b hangs next to, and at right-angles to, bells 8 and 9.

[4]Frame Fr1.2 layout

Frame Fr1.2 comprises seven pits arranged on the western side of Frame Fr1 (although not structurally connected to it). Bells 5 and 6 hang in two parallel pits on the north side next to, and parallel with, bells 7, 8 and 9; bells 3, 4# and 4 hang in three parallel pits at right-angles to bells 5 and 6, swinging towards the central square opening; bells 1 and 2 hang in two parallel pits on the south side next to, and parallel with, bells 13 and 14.
