[1]Frame layout details

There is a diagram in Clouston’s papers (inspection of new frame November 1980) which shows a non-diagonal arrangement with four N-S in parallel pits and 3 and 6 E-W in flanking pits. Cast iron H frame Whitechapel 1980 as shown. The previous frame (by Day, 1883) WAS diagonal and at a higher level. The tower is octagonal.
