The timber braces on the tenor pit were replaced using cast iron braces; the trusses were, therefore, modified from Truss Type 6.B to Truss Type 7.A.

Frame Fr2 Layout is two pits end-to-end. Frame Fr2 comprises two RSJs resting on the heads of Pit 1 from the original 8-bell frame. The Bell 1 is positioned closest to the central square, Bell 2 further away. [Peter Hayward]

[2]Frame Fr1 layout

Frame Fr1 has eight pits arranged around a central square: four pairs of side-by-side pits at right-angles to one another and all swinging towards the central square. When holding the previous ring of eight, the bells were arranged (anticlockwise) in the following pairs: 8 and 1; 2 and 3; 4 and 5; 6 and 7. [Peter Hayward]
