Notes

[1]Note on weight

The Gillett & Johnston records (Tuning Book 0, p23) give 6-2-15 as the cast weight and tunings of 0-0-24. This might suggest a calculated finished weight of 6-1-19 although this isn’t stated as such. The weights board in the tower gives 6-2-15.

[2]Note on weight

The Gillett & Johnston records (Tuning Book 0, p23) give 8-3-0 as the cast weight and tunings of 0-3-10. This might suggest a calculated finished weight of 7-3-18 although this isn’t stated as such. The weights board in the tower gives 8-3-0.

[3]Note on weight

The Gillett & Johnston records (Tuning Book 0, p23) give 10-2-5 as the cast weight and tunings of 1-2-0. This might suggest a calculated finished weight of 9-0-5 although this isn’t stated as such. The weights board in the tower gives 10-2-5.

[4]Note on weight

The Gillett & Johnston records (Tuning Book 0, p22) give 14-0-11 as the cast weight and the figure for the tunings is not clear. One correspondent has suggested that the calculated finished weight is 11-2-24 suggesting tunings of 2-1-15, but the Dove Team has not been able to confirm this. The weights board in the tower gives 14-0-11.

[5]Note on weight

The Gillett & Johnston records (Tuning Book 0, p22) give 17-3-2 as the received weight and tunings of 0-1-16. This might suggest a calculated finished weight of 17-1-14 although this isn’t stated as such. The weights board in the tower gives 17-3-2. Ron Dove gave 17-3-2 in the 1st Edition but revised it to 17-1-11 in the 2nd. It is likely he had access to data on the final weight that we no longer have, hence this is the preferred presented weight.
