| Projects & overhauls | John Taylor & Co (in progress) Bells, frame, and fittings to be removed for a major restoration and augmentation. Three new treble bells to be cast to augment the ring to a ring of twelve plus sharp second. A new cast iron and galvanized steel bell frame for thirteen bells to be manufactured together with new ringing fittings (the bell wheel centres will be adapted and re-used). A new automatic chiming system of electro-magnetic chiming hammers and an Apollo Control unit will be installed on all thirteen bells. A new sound control system and belfry floor will be manufactured and installed 2024 by John Taylor & Co Maintenance work. Bells lifted from their pits for the cleaning/replacement of their bearings. 7th bell headstock returned to Foundry for checking/replacement of gudgeons. Various sliders replaced with new and a new timber shafted clapper manufactured for the tenor bell. The single Ellacombe Hammer on the 4th bell restored and re-fitted. 1925 by Gillett & Johnston (ring created) Ring installed | ||||||
