[1]Details of the main frame (Frame Fr1)
Frame Fr 1 was constructed using the original Taylor frame sides of 1887. The layout most closely resembles Layout 8.3 minus pit G, and with three end-to-end pits instead of Pits E/F. The resultant layout most closely resembles Layout 8.3 with a gap between Pits C/G, with three end-to-end pits instead of Pits E/F, and with two further end-to-end pits next to the three end-to-end pits. The frames were constructed by Whitechapel Bell Foundry to a design by Barry Johnson of Bell Johnson Associates.
